FORT COMICS :-


Fort Comics was an Indian Comic Publication, published by Book Fort, Delhi, India. Fort comics made its debut during the mid-90s. The publication enjoyed very low praise and popularity, because of the evolution of Raj Comics (the most popular comic publication still today). Like most of the other publishers, they could not survive in the fierce Raj and Diamond Comics battle. The other reason was that they were just average on the quality ratings. Like most of the other comics of it level, only few comics had been published, and finally the Fort Comics closed down and disappeared from the Indian Comic Scene.

One more reason for the failure of the comics series, was the lack of any strong character, who could have hold the publication.

Though the Fort Love Series, a side-line publication of the publishers of Fort Comics, was a great attempt to bring the heart warming and soothing love experience in the comic form, and was received and appreciated by the readers with proper respect. But the dismal fate of Fort Comics, put an end to the Fort Love Series too.

Languages & Frequency...Fort Comics were published monthly. There were usually 6 comics in a monthly set. All the comics were published in Hindi Language only.

Note - to boost its selling, Fort Comics offered free gift for children on the purchase of the complete set of a month.

CHARACTERS AND THEMES...

Fort comics lacked heavily when it came to a regular powerful character. Most of the fort comics were a search for a superhero, but none came any nearer to the expectations and most of them never had a second comic to their names. Out of the 6 comics published monthly, generally 4 were of the one-shots featuring various characters and themes ranging from fairy & knight tales, moral or social tales, action-adventure-espionage, science fiction or any other genre...main heroes - zangaroo, zeko, sando, gufina, chaurangi lal etc.

Fort Love Series was a side-line publication of the publishers of Fort Comics. The series was a great attempt to bring the heart warming and soothing love experience in the comic form, and was received and appreciated by the readers with proper respect.  The tenderness,pain, smile, sorrow, mystery, excitement, passion, emotion, meeting, separation - every aspect of the most beautiful feeling in this world called ' LOVE' have found their place in this great series. But the dismal fate of Fort Comics, put an end to the Fort Love Series too, and finally an innovative and sweetest attempt in the Indian comic disappeared from the scene. Though everyone hoped to see some love series coming into light from other publishers, but unfortunately publishers never came up with a separate love series line.
